Abstract
Ocean cover more than 70% of earth surface and ocean waves carries enormous wave power. The substantial part of world electricity can be supplied by utilizing the largest source of untapped clean energy (wave energy). Wave energy is more predictable compare to wind energy and can be forecast 24 hours ahead. In this work, the concept of utilization of wave energy in the power generation has been delivered. The approach to wave energy has been done by using the combination of a buoy and a piston. The work described in this paper aims at the design and fabrication of a wave energy device. A numerical study of the power production by the fabricated device has been done for the implementation of this device in the Indian coastal areas for a clean and sustainable power production in future.
