Abstract
A meshed High-Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) transmission grid has a considerable problem of managing line power flows. The meshed HVDC power grid requires reliable, fast and efficient device which is necessary to balance the imbalanced line currents which are caused due to variation in load. In order to overcome this problem Current Flow Controller (CFCs) is used. CFCs will be needed for balancing currents through lines in meshed DC grids. The CFC consists of two H-bridge converters which are connected via a capacitor and then each H-bridge is coupled to other DC line in the meshed HVDC grid. CFC design and its control performance during normal condition and with variable load condition will be seen with the help of MATLAB Simulink.
