Abstract

The article presents the results of research on the formation of students’ research competence. The authors conduct an analytical review of Russian and foreign scientific sources covering this pedagogical phenomenon. It is demonstrated that an essential role in the formation of research competence today is played by active learning technologies, which include case technologies. The potential of practice-oriented cases for classroom work used when working with students in pedagogical education and, as well as the potential of educational-research cases for extracurricular club work with school students, is revealed. The forms of cases as a means of developing research competence, requirements for them, and the implementation stages are described. The article also provides the results of practice-oriented learning carried out as part of experimental work with the use of case technologies. The authors’ materials can be used in the process of developing students’ research competence in both higher and secondary education institutions.
