Abstract

AbstractPorous bead polyaromatic copolymers of styrene with 4,4‐di(methacryloyloxymethyl) diphenylmethane (DMD) and 4‐(methacryloyloxymethyl)diphenylmethane (MD) with DMD were prepared. The thermal stabilities of these compounds were characterized by the rate of degradation, the initial decomposition temperature and the carbon residue. The activation energies of thermal decomposition were determined. DMD‐styrene copolymers are stable up to 270°C and DMD‐MD‐copolymers up to 240°C.
