Abstract

This paper offers an innovative and unconventional approach to the relationship between poetry and fracture mechanics on the basis of previous research of the author in the field of fatigue & fracture crack paths in progressively cold drawn pearlitic steel, in the conceptual framework of his thoughts and reflections about the philosophy of arts and humanities and its relation with science. In the present paper, novel connections and links are established between fatigue, fracture mechanics & structural integrity of progressively cold drawn pearlitic eutectoid steel bars and wires (on one side) and poetry (on the other side).
