Abstract
Williams syndrome is one of the rare genetic disorders causing developmental delay and learning challenges. Consequently, the syndrome also presents speech, language, cognitive and behavioral deficits. Play is one of the critical elements in the acquisition of speech, language, and cognition in children. Therefore, developing play skills in children diagnosed with Williams syndrome is crucial during speech and language therapy. In this case study, we present a detailed linguistic profile of a child with Williams syndrome. Further, we aim to provide in-depth knowledge on play-based speech-language therapy and its significance in improving communication and other related skills in children diagnosed with Williams syndrome.
