Abstract
AbstractMultiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) antennas play a vital role in a faster wireless communication system, reducing multipath fading and increasing the channel bandwidth. Diversity methods are achieved for polarization, frequency, and pattern by using different design methods according to the requirement of applications. MIMO antenna where multiple radiating elements are radiating increases the channel bandwidth and also maintains the overall efficiency. Maintaining isolation between the closely packed radiating elements has been addressed by using isolation techniques such as stubs/slots, fractal geometries, and EBG structures. Design, analysis, and characterization have been verified using 2 × 2/4 × 4 MIMO antenna configuration, including the envelope correlation coefficient (ECC), diversity gain (DG), total active reflection coefficient (TARC), and channel capacity loss (CCL).
