Abstract

In this paper we propose to present the partial results of the master's research about the aesthetic experiences of Symbolism in Brazil of the late nineteenth century, more specifically in the city of Rio de Janeiro. We consider a selection of material in order to restore the importance of the symbolist literary magazine Pierrot, published in 1890, in a differentiated theoretical approach that scales the disruptive potential of this journal and allows perceive it as an original production, which makes it possible to understand the intrinsic political nature of the aesthetic manifestations.
