Abstract
A new method of fast-timing measurements using \ensuremath{\beta}-\ensuremath{\gamma}-\ensuremath{\gamma} coincidences with ${\mathrm{BaF}}_{2}$ and plastic detectors has been used to measure a number of lifetimes for low-lying states in $^{116}$,118,120Cd in the range of 10--100 ps. The results are discussed in terms of the vibrational and intruder structure of these nuclei.
