Abstract
Phytochemical analysis indicated the presence of several biological active secondary compounds like a alkaloids, saponins, phenolics, cardiac glycosides, glycosides, tannins, sterols and flavonoids. Anthraquinones was not detected in leaves and stems of the plant. This study uncovered the plant's total (alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, tannins, phenolic) percentage. Chenopodium ambrosioides L. was examined for its non-polar components. Crude hexane and chloroform extracts were analyzed using GC–MS, as well as various chromatographic separation mechanisms, were used to identify and characterize (using MASS) seven known ingredients. These substances are, 2-Methoxy-6-Vinylphenol 1, Nandrolone, TMS derivative 2, 2H-1-Benzopyran-2-one, 7-methoxy 3, (E)-Tonghaosu 4, Bisabolol oxide 5, Phytol, TMS derivative 6, (5á)3-Acetoxypregnan-20-ol-6-one-1 8-oic acid lactone 7.
