Abstract
Abstract The ferroelectric single crystal series (K x Na1-x )0.4(Sr y Ba1-y )0.8Nb2O6 where 0.30 ≪ x ≪ 0.75 and 0.30 ≪ y ≪ 0.90 (to be abbreviated to KNSBN) with tetragonal tungsten-bronze type structure have been developed and studied by Xu, et al. 1–7 The experiment for photorefractive effect has been performed in undoped and doped KNSBN crystals. The crystal sample was exposed by a beam of light (578 nm) from a tunable dye laser, while the photoinduced birefringence change was determined. As an example, the experimental results in Nd-KNSBN are shown.
