Abstract
In recent years, there has been increasing awareness all over the world of the adverse effects of the indiscriminate use of pesticides. Many pesticides are present today in different concentrations in different components of our environment such as air, water and soil. Some 500,000 people are either killed or incapacitated by poisoning every year, and most of these casualties occur in developing nations. This paper briefly presents the factual information on the important problems of pesticides hazards due to the extensive use and wrongful manner of handling in India, a developing country.
