Abstract
SYNOPSIS Utilization of a solar-powered low-temperature Rankine cycle to operate a conventional mechanical compression air conditioning cycle is feasible in providing a cooling load. The aim of this paper is to use an endoreversible system approach for the analysis of the performance of such a solar-heat-engine-driven-air-conditioning system. The only irreversibilities are heat transfers due to finite temperature differences between the system and the three surrounding heat reservoirs.
