Abstract

CO tolerance of Ti0.8Mo0.2O2–C supported 40 wt.% Pt electrocatalysts was measured at 0.5 mg/cm2 loading with a 2-cell PEM fuel cell stack. Long-term operation under CO and switching gas composition between hydrogen and CO shows recovery of performance after poisoning. Anode catalyst loading of 0.5 mgPt/cm2 was enough to give reasonable performance under 100 ppm CO. There was no effect of stack orientation on short-term performance.
