Abstract

is presented, saving the network bandwidth. In this paper the two protocols DSDV, a proactive routing protocol, and DSR, a reactive routing protocol, are briefly reviewed and a simulation based comparative performance analysis is presented. Our results are based on simulations of an ad hoc network of 50 wireless mobile nodes randomly moving about and communicating with each other. The Protocols are compared on the basis of the performance metrics viz throughput, average end-to-end delay and jitter. The following section gives short descriptions of the two ad-hoc routing protocols studied in this paper.
