Abstract
In this paper, routing methods for Wi-Fi mesh networks considering the traffic load balancing and quality of service (QoS) were proposed. The proposed routing methods were based on the ad-hoc on-demand distance vector (AODV) and optimized link state routing (OLSR) protocols, and we analyzed the network performances with these routings for Wi-Fi mesh network. Routings considering traffic load balancing could establish route without any repeater nodes having high traffic load by monitoring network traffics on each node. Moreover, routings with QoS were also realized by categorized traffics as real time traffics and non-real time traffics, and we analyzed the network performance of the proposed AODV-based and OLSR-based routing methods for Wi-Fi mesh network by using computer simulations. As a result of computer simulations, it was confirmed that a route considering the traffic load balancing could be established, and it could improve throughput and delay-time performances. With the proposed AODV-based and OLSR-based routings, the maximum throughput was improved about 4.5 Mbps, and the delay-time was improved about 50 ms under some traffic load conditions in the network.
