Abstract

In this paper a comparison of two significant categories in the metamaterial transmission line resonating structures, Split ring resonator (SRR) and Complementary split ring resonator (CSRR) is presented. Including slots in a rectangular patch antenna resulted in multiband frequency operation. A multiband antenna resonating in the frequency 1.66GHz, 2.34GHz, 2.82GHz, 3.3GHz is incorporated with SRR and CSRR structure. Both metamaterial unit cell structures are implemented, and results are obtained. The metamaterial resulted in the improvement of results like gain, directivity, bandwidth, also radiation pattern of the antenna. Comparison of CSRR and SRR results on multiband antenna will be analyzed in this paper.
