Abstract
In this paper, operations in the event of short-circuit and open circuit failure of the switched reluctance motor control system have been studied based on the establishment of non-linear mathematical model of switched reluctance motor. First, a theoretical analysis was carried out on the SRD system short-circuit and open circuit fault operation; then, nonlinear dynamic simulation model was established in MATLAB / SIMULINK environment on the base of describing the SRD system nonlinear dynamic model; Finally, simulation study was implemented on the SRD system in the event of open circuit and short circuit fault operation, and theoretical analysis and the simulation results were compared to verify the theoretical analysis and simulation consistency. Double-loop simulation results in the case of faults have shown that a short circuit or a open circuit fault of one phase will not affect the safe operation of SRD system, and proved high fault-tolerant capability of SRM.
