Abstract
Abstract. Manggungsari is a beautiful village located around 4,6 km from the peak of Merapi Mountain. This village is part of Wonokerto, sub-district Turi, Sleman, Special Province of Yogyakarta. It has 4 Rukun Tetangga, 22 km from the city of Yogyakarta. The majority of Manggungsari people are farmers. They plant Salak (snake fruit) and pepper. Farmers in Manggungsari experience difficulties in selling and developing their main product, the snake fruits. To improve their agricultural productivity, they also plant pepper. The challenge with pepper is that its freshness doesn’t last long. Our team believe that processing pepper into powdered pepper will be beneficial for the farmers as one alternative solution. What we conducted during the study were finding the needs of the farmers, sharing knowledge for the alternative solution, and practising. The new knowledge and skills they develop during community service hopefully will be one solution to improve the farmers' agricultural product diversification.
