Abstract

The paper deals with the «philosophy of form» developed by Merleau-Ponty in La structure du comportement (1942). Through the concepts of form and structure, the philosopher looks for a new instrument of knowledge able to connect life order with specifically human order. What is at stake is the attempt to conceptualize a «conscience naturee» which makes it possible to reinterpret the dialectical relation between life and thought, and to rethink some categories of moral philosophy (existence, freedom, choice).
