Abstract
Improved short distance running learning through the playing basket ball approach to third grade students at state elementary school 05 Karangtengah. The background of this thesis writing is that teachers often place importance on results compared to the process so that students feel bored, bored and not excited when learning to run short distances. The problems that are the center of attention in this study are: Can learning through the playing basket ball approach improve learning outcomes for short distance running in grade III students at state elementary school 05 Karangtengah, Sukabumi Regency? The purpose of this study were: to determine the improvement of learning outcomes for short distance running through the playing basket ball approach to third grade students at state elementary school 05 Karangtengah. This assessment involved all third grade students at state elementary school 05 Karangtengah, who attended the study, amounting to 25 people with a composition of 15 female students and 10 male students. The data analysis technique used the assessment of the teacher activity observation sheet, the assessment of the student activity observation sheet, basic motion analysis instruments and practical tests. This research was conducted for seven weeks with one meeting to carry out the initial condition test (pre-cycle), six meetings with two meetings for the implementation of cycle I, two meetings for the implementation of cycle II, and two meetings for the implementation of cycle III. From the research results, it was concluded that through the play approach, learning to run short distances in students experienced a significant increase in each cycle as evidenced by the results of the evaluation test in the pre-cycle the highest score was 75, the lowest score was 50, the average was 62.6, the percentage of student completeness was 24. %. In cycle I the highest score was 75, the lowest score was 50, the average was 67.2, the percentage of student completeness was 52%. In the second cycle the highest score was 80, the lowest score was 55, the average was 71.6, the percentage of student completeness was 68%. In the third cycle the highest score was 90, the lowest score was 65, the average was 80.2, the percentage of student completeness was 88%. The results of the questionnaire analysis can be concluded that through the playing basket ball approach the students are more enthusiastic and do not feel bored and are active in the learning process of short distance running.
