Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the level of student learning effectiveness through the Card Sort method in Social Science (IPS) subjects. Social studies subjects are one of the compulsory subjects for junior high school (SMP) students. Social studies is a subject that must be mastered by students because the material content is very important. However, it is unfortunate that many students do not have a high interest in social studies subjects. Apart from the material that requires a lot of memorization, conventional teacher learning methods also make students even more bored. By using Classroom Action Research (CAR) and through the data validation stage, the results of this study showed the value of learning outcomes and the level of student learning completeness were much higher than using conventional methods.

Kesimpulan Berdasarkan hasil Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilakukan oleh peneliti, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan metode card sort (mensortir kartu) dalam pembelajaran Ilmpu Pengetahuan Sosial (IPS) materi Kondisi Masyarakat Indonesia pada Masa Penjajahan pada siswa kelas VIII B Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP) Negeri 3 Kampak Tahun Pelajaran 2016/2017 terbukti sangat efektif dan mampu meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa
Summary
Sebagai landasan mengenai apa yang dimaksud dengan belajar, terlebih dahulu akan dikemukakan beberapa definisi. Sedangkan untuk menetapkan apakah sebuah metode dapat disebut baik diperlukan patokan yang bersumber dari beberapa faktor yang di antaranya adalah tujuan yang akan dicapai dan yang merupakan faktor utama.. Penggunaan metode yang sesuai dan tepat dalam proses belajar mengajar sangat mempengaruhi hasil yang ingin dicapai. Sementara metode Card Sort (Mensortir kartu) yaitu suatu metode yang digunakan guru dengan maksud mengajak siswa untuk menemukan konsep dan fakta melalui klasifikasi materi yang dibahas dalam pembelajaran.. Tujuan dari metode belajar menggunakan card sort ini adalah untuk mengungkapkan daya ingat terhadap materi pelajaran yang telah dipelajari siswa. Zaini Hisyam mengatakan bahwa gerakan fisik yang dominan dalam metode card sort ini dapat membantu mendinamisir kelas yang jenuh dan bosan.. F. Siswa lebih mudah mengerti tentang materi yang diajarkan dari pada dengan menggunakan metode ceramah. Banyak menyita waktu terutama menyiapkan model pembelajaran aktif tipe pemilahan kartu
