Abstract
Mesoporous silica SBA-15 is an interesting material having highly ordered nanopores and large surface area, which is synthesized by sol gel and hydrothermal methods. In this study, mesoporous silica SBA-15 was synthesised with two different methods and the characteris was using X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC). SBA-15 was prepared TEOS as precursor and Pluronic 123 as surfactant. Thermoporous mesoporous DSC thermogram results of the SBA-15A mesoporous silica is (Tg 79oC and Tc 158oC). This is relatively lower than SBA-15B (Tg 86oC and Tc 158oC). The measurement of low angle X-Ray Diffraction SBA-15A has a crystal size 9.46 nm and SBA-15B has a crystal size 9.96 nm. The synthesis of SBA-15 using the hydrothermal method needs to be studied further to obtain thermal characteristics and a more stable crystal structure

Nanoteknologi digunakan untuk mendeskripsikan kreasi dan rekayasa suatu material yang memiliki ukuran struktur di antara atom dan material ukuran besar berdimensi nanometer. Material silika mesopori Santa Barbara Amorf (SBA-15) dapat digunakan sebagai supporting cell berdasarkan sifat permukaan seperti luas permukaan pori, diameter pori, dan volume permukaan pori. Wang dkk melakukan sintesis material silika mesopori SBA-15 yang memiliki dinding pori tebal dan kestabilan termal yang tinggi dengan menambahkan secara langsung bubuk polivinil alkohol (PVA) sebelum larutan menjadi jernih. Metode sintesis one-step post grafting aminopropyl/SBA-15 memiliki karakteristik luas permukan 524 m2/g, volume pori 0,6 cm3/g, dan diameter pori SBA-15 adalah 6,5 nm. Pada metode sintesis two-step post grafting imidazole-SBA-15 memiliki karakteristik luas permukan 362 m2/g, volume pori 0,57 cm3/g, dan diameter pori SBA-15 adalah 5,6 nm [5]. Dari uraian tersebut di atas telah dilakukan penelitian sintesis silika mesopori SBA-15 dengan merekayasa metode sintesis untuk memperoleh karakteristik SBA-15 melalui analisis suhu kristalisasi (Tc), dan suhu transisi gelas (Tg) melalui analisis Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) dan karakteristik struktur kristal melalui analisis Low Angle X-Ray Diffraction (XRD)
