Abstract

The proposed methodology is designed to assess knowledge in the field of general pedagogy, the history of pedagogy and education. It can be used both in working with students of the directions: «pedagogical» and «psychological and pedagogical education», and with current teachers. The peculiarity of pedagogy as a branch of scientific knowledge is the frequent ambiguity in the interpretation of a number of basic concepts. The methodology of testing pedagogi- cal literacy has been developed taking into account the identification of the minimum knowledge gained during the development of general pedagogical disciplines of the professional (psychological and pedagogical) module at the university. The presented test tasks are formulated in such a way that they practically exclude debatable questions. Authors thank the professors and associate professors of the Department of Pedagogy for their highly qualified, constructive assistance in developing the methodology and its empirical verification.
