Abstract

This paper presents path loss frequency dependence in an urban macro (UMa) cell environment on the basis of measurement campaign results using three frequencies between 2 and 26 GHz. For a 3rd Generation Partnership Project UMa model above 6 GHz band, the dependence is shown by 20log(f). The measurement results show that the dependence is similar in Line-of-Sight areas but that in Non-Line-of-Sight areas it increases as distance increases. They also show that the dependence appears to be caused by the dominant diffraction path in long distance areas, which has large frequency dependence.
