Abstract

This paper presents analysis results for the measured path loss in the bands from 2 to 66 GHz for two urban macrocell (UMa) environments. The analysis was based on the ITU-R models included in ITU-R Recommendation P.1411 and ITU-R Report M.[IMT-2020.EVAL]. The models in the Report are on the basis of 3GPP TR38.901. These documents, published in 2017, summarize the latest models for the bands up to 100 GHz and were prepared to support studies related to IMT-2020. We measured and compared the prediction accuracies of these models in the bands between 2 and 66 GHz for two UMa environments with four transmitter positions and different antenna heights. The dependency of path loss on the frequency and antenna height affected prediction accuracy, indicating that taking these dependency factors into account can enhance prediction accuracy.
