Abstract

Herein, based on the selected particle sizes of 0–25 μm, 25–45 μm and 45–75 μm, the particle-size effect of recycled clay brick powder (RCBP) on the pore structure of blended cement pastes was investigated. Results show that RCBP particle size has a significant impact on the pore size and pore volume distributions and pore surface fractal dimension of blended paste throughout the observed age and on porosity and tortuosity only at later ages. Reducing RCBP particle size proved effective in improving the pore structure of blended paste. Notably, tortuosity is strongly correlated with compressive strength in an exponential correlation.
