Mircea Măran Mircea Măran MIRCEA MĂRAN, a historian, is employed as a professor at the Preschool Teacher Training College “Mihailo Palov” in Vršac, where he is the head of the Department of Philosophy and Social Sciences. In 2008, he defended his doctoral thesis at the Faculty of Philosophy in Novi Sad, the subject being the culture of the Romanians in Banat in the period between 1945 and 1952. He is involved in numerous domestic and international projects and he has participated in a large number of scientific meetings and seminars both home and abroad. He has published over 20 monographs, either as a sole author or a co-author. He has also published a series of studies in the field of history, pedagogy, anthropology, and so on, in professional and scientific journals. In 2015 and 2018, he received the “Culture without Borders” Award at the Transilvania International Book Festival in Cluj, Romania. He is the president of the NGO “Centre for Banat Studies” in Vršac.
