Abstract

The article deals with the parcellation of compound sentences in terms of structure and semantics. Only those compound sentences have been analyzed in which the relationship between the components is carried out by conjunctive means and the second predicative part is characterized by synsemantism. A structure is considered to be parcellated if: a) the separated component (parcel) is separated from the base part by a long pause, in writing – by signs of a communicative unit; b) the base part and the parcel are interdependent grammatically and semantically; c) when transformed, the parcel can be included in the base part without changes. It has been observed that the synsemantism of the parcel manifests itself in the following: a) a pronoun which comprises the content of the entire basic part or some of its fragments is used in the parcel; b) the separated predicative part is characterized by incomplete structure and semantics; c) the components of the parcellated structure have a common secondary part of the sentence or a common predicative part; d) the components are characterized by structural parallelism. All types of compound sentences can be parcellated, but the frequency of their parcellation varies. According to our observations, the most frequent are the parcellated structures with the connective conjunction И (31%) and the adversative conjunction НО (43%) of the total number of uses. Parcellation of compound sentences with conjunctions A, ДА, ДА И, ОДНАКО, ИЛИ etc. is less common (26%). Parcellation actualizes the following semanticsyntactic relations in compound sentences: a) connective-temporal; b) causal; c) adversative-comparative; d) adversative-restrictive; e) joining. It has been pointed out the special frequent group of parcellated constructions where the parcel expresses an assessment that logically follows from the base part or the author's assessment of what was said. In terms of structure, parcellated compound sentences are predominantly single-linked, i.e. one parcel is separated from the base part. Parcellation actualizes the information that is important to the author.

Introduction

У цій статті розглядається парцеляція складносурядних речень з точки зору структури та семантики. Parcellation of compound sentences with conjunctions A, ДА, ДА И, ОДНАКО, ИЛИ etc. Как известно, сочинительная связь соединяет равноправные предикативные части в сложносочиненных предложениях, а это, в свою очередь, предполагает возможность их трансформации в самостоятельные предложения.
