Abstract
We propose a q-deformed su(2) parafermion (Zk parafermion), and use it together with a free boson field to construct a representation of quantum affine algebra [Formula: see text] of Drinfeld realization for a general level k. In the classical limit q→1, the q-deformed su(2) parafermions become su(2) parafermion, and this realization is the parafermion realization of [Formula: see text] Kac–Moody algebra.
