Abstract
Oocyte aspiration is a crucial step of in vitro fertilization and an important skill for REI fellows to develop. However, the few studies that have examined fellow oocyte retrieval outcomes have reported conflicting results. For example, the number of procedures required for proficiency has been cited as anywhere from 10 to more than 50 [1,2]. Furthermore, these studies are limited by small numbers of fellows and inconsistent definitions of clinical competence.
