Abstract

The general purpose of the research; The purpose of this study is to determine the opinions of Turkish teachers about the use of story-based learning approach (ÖTÖY) in secondary school Turkish lessons and to reveal teacher opinions for using ÖTÖY in Turkish lesson. In order to determine the views for using the story-based learning approach, a screening model was used from the models which allowed us to reach a general judgment about the universe. This research was carried out in the Spring semester of the 2022-2023 academic year. In the research, one of the qualitative research designs "case study" was used. The sample of the study was accepted as the case study of Famagusta, Nicosia, İskele state secondary schools in the 3 districts of the Ministry of National Education in Northern Cyprus. The working group of the study is composed of 86 Turkish teachers working in schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education and Culture in North Cyprus, which are determined in accordance with purposeful and maximum diversity sampling. As a data collection tool, a written opinion form consisting of 5 open ended questions was used to create a storytelling story developed by the researcher. "The interview form for the importance of using (ÖTÖY)in Turkish lesson" was collected. n the study, teachers came to the conclusion that they contributed positively to their knowledge, skills and attitudes in the story-based learning approach from the new approaches. In the study, it was concluded that teachers looked positively on the story-based learning approach.
