Abstract
The article raises the issue of organizational changes in the structure of the Red Army in the 20s. The points of view of the country’s leadership regarding the prospects of the Armed Forces of the Soviet state, as well as practical steps taken taking into account the specifics of the situation in the USSR during the NEP period, are revealed.
