Abstract
At times IT/ITeS professionals are forced to change the entire paradigms amidst constant uncertainty and high risk. The purpose for this research is to find out the level of stress among the IT/ITeS professionals of India, to study the major stressors that contribute to the level of stress and to find out how stress level differs on the basis of gender, age and length of service of professional. Instrument on organisational role stress developed and standardised by Udai Pareek, was administered to 135 IT/ITeS professionals through e-mail. It was found that all the factors are highly correlated to each other and also to the overall stress level of the employees. The highest degree of correlation is found in role stagnation with correlation coefficient of .8679. It was also found that male employees feel more stressed as compared to female employees.
