Abstract

AbstractThe system 2‐amino‐7‐nitrofluorene/1,2‐dichlorobenzene was found to show laser action. Contrary to hitherto known dye lasers this system exhibits a blue shift of the dye laser spectrum with increasing dye laser intensity, dye concentration and resonator Q. During emission of a single pulse, the dye laser spectrum shows a blue shift with proceeding time. These effects are explained by orientational relaxation processes of the polar solvent molecules.
