Abstract

The particular consideration of spontaneous light polarization symmetry breaking and restoration in anisotropic dye lasers, taking into account orientational relaxation processes (ORPs), provides an opportunity for designing new methods of chaos control consisting of the tuning or modulation of induced or medium anisotropy. The investigations on orientational relaxation–dependent pattern formation in the transverse section of an anisotropic dye laser may be used to design new methods of intracavity polarization spectroscopy. This chapter discusses the main features of an operator of excitation energy migration and uses the operator approach to find the anisotropy of luminescence for high-intensity pumping emission. The theory of concentration depolarization of dye lasing is developed in the chapter and the dynamics operations of an anisotropic dye laser with a saturable absorber are investigated. Furthermore, the effects of spontaneous light polarization symmetry breaking and restoration caused by the interplay of anisotropy and ORPs are also considered.
