Abstract

The effect of preparation conditions (impurity concentration, partial vapour pressure of components, firing temperature) on the shape of the orange photoluminescence band in CdS:Ag:Cl is investigated. It is shown that the shape of the O-band may be treated as a superposition of two different bands for pure associated and distant DA pairs with peak positions 2.08 eV and 1.94 eV, respectively. Possible role of various preparation conditions on the distribution of DA pairs is discussed.
