Abstract

Internet of Marine Things have emerged as a promising technology to explore and study the Marine environment and it also has wide application foreground.Due tothe special nature of the deployment environment, the perception layer network often has a“hot spot”phenomenon, which brings great challenges to optimize network bandwidth, energy, and communication reliability. In order to realize efficient and reliable communication across marine environment,we conducted a performance optimization study on the Internet of Marine Things.A simple opportunistic routing based on time-competition isproposed, which is integrated with the nodes cross-layer forwarding model of a layered network.Based on minimizing data communication overhead, the time-competition strategy is used to alleviate the communication“hot spot”problem, balance network energy consumption, reduce network load and increase packet delivery ratio. The simulation results show that the proposed strategy can effectively improves the communication performance of Internet of Marine Things.
