Abstract

In recent years, advanced materials and composites are playing an essential role in manufacturing industries. The composition of vanadium, chromium and iron with tantalum carbide were used to make the material with outstanding substance properties. Stir casting is used to synthesis vanadium composite. Electrochemical grinding (ECG) was preferred to make the material with superior surface texture. The current, concentration of the electrolyte and speed of the grinding wheel were considered as the control factor in ECG process. The surface roughness (SR) is evaluated and it’s optimization was conducted through Taguchi approach. The effect of input constrains on surface texture was confirmed through variance analysis. Optimal surface roughness was obtained at current of 50A, electrolyte concentration of 300 g/l and speed of 400 rpm.
