Abstract

Agricultural biomass in which, among others, is include soybean straw, as well as agricultural by product, has great energy potential in our country, and at the same time very small percentage is up to now used for energy purposes. Bearing in mind more intense fluctuations in the market of fossil fuels, as well as obligations that our country has taken in relation to the Energy community, there is a necessity for use renewable energy sources, primarily agricultural biomass as a renewable source with the greatest potential. There are a number of ways of using biomass for energy purposes, such as burning on the grate, dust combustion, fluidized bed combustion, but as appropriate way for baled biomass combustion, has been selected the 'cigar burner'. The aim of this paper is to analyze processes of gas combustion in the furnace in which agricultural biomass is burning, and also the development of CFD mathematical model which should describe the reliability of the processes that occurs in the part above the zone of bale combustion, with attention on the analysis of CO content in the combustion products.
