Abstract

Service Restoration (SR) will be one of the crucial components in future smart networks. Along with the repair crews, mobile power sources can also help the SR process. With the help of these resources, it will be possible to form microgrids that operate as islanded elements. In this way, load interruption will be avoided as much as possible. In this article, an innovative two-stage algorithm for SR is proposed. In this heuristic algorithm, while considering manual switches (MSs) and remotely controlled switches (RCSs) a simplification method is used to reduce the problem size and solving time. Also, to reach the optimal solutions, the time of each switching operation action is estimated and included in the objective function of the innovative SR strategy algorithm. Finally, as an answer to the problem, the sequence of switching and the location of the repair crews and mobile resources have been presented at each step of the process. The proposed method was tested on a standard IEEE 69-bus network and evaluated in two different modes. The results confirmed the effective performance of the proposed method for implementation in current and future smart networks.
