Abstract
AbstractThe optical phonon spectrum of NaBrO3 has been determined by Raman scattering. Comparison with the infrared reflection spectra reported in literature is made. Good agreement is found between the two kinds of measurements. From the polar phonon frequencies a value of 5.63 is calculated for the static dielectric constant, whose experimental value is reported to be 5.7. Dielectric transition strengths and damping constants are also determined from the Raman data.
