Abstract
We present a biodiversity study on the Ophioninae (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonidae) specimens, collected between 2006 and 2016 in Puerto Rico. Nine species in three genera are recorded, including one new species, which is described here: Enicospilus almodovar sp. nov. We also report Thyreodon rufothorax Cameron as a new record for Puerto Rico. Collection records and other biological information are offered for each species. A key to the Puerto Rican Ophioninae species is also provided. A preliminary analysis of ophionine distribution patterns and endemism among Puerto Rican species is presented, and their relationships with Caribbean, North and Central America faunas are also examined.
