Abstract
Domestic waste generation in Temanggung Regency is about 182,562.96 ton/year contain 51,75% of organic waste, where this organic waste has the potential to be processed into compost. As an alternative method that can be used to process organic waste is the open bin composter method. The data used in this study is secondary data that taken from Dinas Perumahan Rakyat, Kawasan Permukiman, dan Lingkungan Hidup Kabupaten Temanggung in 2022, this data contain measurements of weight, volume, and composition of waste. From this data, the weight of waste that can be composted, volume of organic waste that composted, and the weight of compost can be calculated. From the calculation results, the area that needed for composting area is 20,8 m2, and open bin composter method can process 12.11 m3/day of organic waste to 6.1 m3/day of compost or equal with 1376 kg/day.
