Abstract
TbFeO3nanoparticles were synthesized using Tb4O7and Fe (NO3)3·9H2O as the main raw material by a one-step microwave process. The prepared nanoparticles were characterized by thermogravimetric and differential thermal analysis (TG-DTA), powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). XRD and SEM demonstrate the successful synthesis of single phase TbFeO3and an average grain size of 40-100 nm in diameter. The single phase structure of TbFeO3was yet maintained after calcination at 800 °C. The photocatalytic experiment shows the high visible-light photocatalytic activity for the decomposition of methyl orange.
