Abstract

The three-dimensional theory in Eco-translatology proposed by Professor Hu Gengshen at Tsinghua University has strong explanatory power for translation practice. This paper attempts to use this theory to study the translations of the last ten Summer Olympic Games (1984-2020) slogans from the dimensions of language, culture and communication. The study has found that the slogans of the Olympic Games are an important representation of the main theme of the times, and some of the translations of the slogans have obvious dimensional emphasis and demarcation, while other translations have the characteristics of all the three dimensions of language, culture and communication, so they should be considered and examined as a whole.
