Abstract

1. The dependence of the characteristics of ignition on the value of the Biot criterion (Bi) was established by an analysis of the nonequilibrium temperature field in the reacting system. 2. With decreasing Bi, the region of autoignition is greatly expanded, and at very low Bi it is practically impossible to bring about ignition. The value of the induction period close to the upper limit of autoignition approaches a value corresponding to an adiabatic system with Bi decreases. 3. Formulas for the time of heating and minimum time of delay of combustion were obtained in the work.
