Abstract
AbstractThe discrepancy between the results of Fuson's work and our own on the alkali‐catalyzed reaction of acetophenone with formaldehyde in alcohol has been studied. Several compounds have been isolated and identified but 5‐benzoyl‐m‐dioxan, which according to Fuson should be the main reaction product, has not been found.
