Abstract
We derive a new formula for differentiating with respect to level. We apply it to establish the convexity or concavity of geometric functionals of level for solutions of certain elliptic equations. We also establish a new isoperimetric inequality forp capacity,p≥2, for an annulus with convex boundaries.
