Abstract

AbstractThe optical absorption, caused by interband transitions between quasiparticle bands, is investigated within the limits of the Hubbard model for a system of correlated electrons in a narrow energy band. Thereby first of all the influence of magnetic orderings over absorption spectra is discussed. It is shown that a phase transition paramagnetism ↔ ferro‐magnetism is signalled by a significant modification of the absorption curves. The numerical evaluation is done for a simple cubic lattice for arbitrary band occupation n and arbitrary interaction constant I.
